Mya is an inventive young woman with a fascination for lost technology. Despite her traumatic history, she does her best to keep a peppy and optimistic front, unwilling to show vulnerability. This makes her in good terms with most people while keeping them at arm’s length.

She keeps her mind off of things by thinkering with old tech.

Background

As a child, Mya was sold into slavery to pay off her biological family’s debt to the clan of Hunters whose protectiong they were under. To mark her ownership, her tail was cut off and she was made to hide her ears under hats or wrappings. She was forced to forge demon-hunting weapons from the remains of slain demons, damaging her hands from the high amounts of corruption being in contact with her unprotected skin for long periods of time.

For years, she worked hard to pay off her family’s debt, unaware that it had been long settled with her being sold away. She’d hoped working hard enough would eventually lead to her being let go and reunite with her family, but it was never to be.

When the clan was attacked and destroyed by a group of demons, Mya and the other enslaved workers were freed, so she headed to where she’d been told her family was. There, she was turned away and finally learned the truth of the deal between them and the Hunters. With nowhere else to go and the Plains being too dangerous for a lone person, Mya headed to Quallan where she made a living through odd jobs. Nowadays, she’s your resident expert in unearthed lost technology, which she has a made a career out of reverse-engineering.

Trivia

• Due to her history, she keeps her ears hidden despite no longer being obligated to, feeling too vulnerable with them exposed. She passes it off as an interest in cute hats, which she does also have.
